Mars

Event source: Basic Calendar Events
12:00 AM
Mars, originally an agricultural god of Rome but later their war god, was worshipped in two ways: with a sacrifice in the temple, and with the formal assembly on the Campus Martius of Rome's original four legions at the start of the war season.

Today, in ritual alone and with others, reaffirm the principles for which you will fight, and the means by which you will fight. Practice martial arts, play at fighting, and resolve conflicts with 'duels' as appropriate.

Return of the Goddess

Event source: Basic Calendar Events
12:00 AM
Persephone was originally the goddess of flowers, but after Hades kidnapped her she became the queen of the underworld. Thanks to a deal between Zeus and her mother Demeter, she spends half of every year in the realm of the dead, and half in the mortal world. As the returning goddess, she is Kore — the young woman. Among many modern pagans, she is an archetype for BDSM relationships: half in the darkness and half in the light.

Today marks her return to the world of the living. It is a day for playful sensuality, celebrating the return of life to the world, and the joys of motherhood. In ritual alone and with others, notice transitions: the return of spring, children to youth, youth to adulthood, and the maturation of relationships.
