Lights of Isis

The Feast of the Lights of Isis recalls a story associated with this Egyptian goddess's search for her butchered and drowned husband Osiris. As her tears fell into the Nile, they became silver lamps, which ran aground on sandbars and in shallow water. Thus they lighted the way for sailors and bargemen on the river, and Isis became the first keeper of lighthouses.

In ritual today, consider the role of lighthouses and guideposts of various sorts in your spiritual and magical journeys. How does Light warn us from dangerous shoals, and guide us into deeper streams that carry us to greater destinations?
